New year, new look, new page!

I'm hoping someone realizes that the title is a quote. Here's a hint as to where it's from.

Some of you are probably like "Who the $%*! is Warpedrationails and why am I suddenly following them?!" Paper Thin Nails is now Warpedrationails. There are many reasons for this change, one major one being my username for everything is "warpedrationale" and I feel like people may not realize that I am also a nail blogger. Another reason being I haven't liked the name "paper thin nails" for probably about a year now and I thought, with the new year starting, this is the best opportunity to change it. That being said, I'm also striving to post a least once a week as a new years resolution.

Alright, enough chit-chat. Let's get to the nails!

For today's nail art I used Bohemian nail decorations from the Born Pretty Store.

I used Zoya Blu as a base and followed Chalkboard Nails' Distressed Nail technique using Zoya Rocky, China Glaze Shower Together and finally Color Club Worth The Risque for a little bit of sparkle.

Here are some images without the nail decorations.

Not sure if I did all that great with the distressed technique. I think more contrasting colors might have been better, but I still like how these turned out.

Overall, I found these nail decorations to be way too big for my nail beds, even if my nails were longer, but they are really pretty. I just couldn't see myself wearing them for a full day without them driving me nuts. I bet they'd look amazing on people with larger nail beds though. A pack of these decorations is $4.79 and you get five total. I don't think that's too bad considering you can definitely reuse the as long as you don't lose them.

As for the name change. What are your thoughts? Worst mistake ever? Let me know in the comments! (Though, I'm not going back now, switching everything took ages and I'm so much happier with this name than the previous)

  3. I love the distressed technique in the blue and silver! It doesn't look quite so "grunge", more artistic and watercolor-y :) The nail decoration looks gorgeous!
