31DC2012 Day 31: Recreate a manicure you love

Quick post so I can get this in by midnight!!

I love Candice aka MrCandiipants. She's one of the reasons I decided to start blogging. This design is based off of her overlapping nail art.

Somehow her overlapping lines look way better than mine, but that's okay because I still love these.

AND I FINISHED THE CHALLENGE! So I kind of failed, since I didn't post everyday, but I did finish on time, so I should get like an 80% right? I think so. (I mean, if this was a test and being graded, which it obviously isn't).

31DC2012 Day 30: Inspired by a Tutorial

I've wanted to do the fishtail braid manicure type thing for awhile and decided this was a perfect opportunity. It went okay, I think.

I originally attempted this tutorial by The Beauty Department; however, after I made the strips, I couldn't figure out how to trim them down, so I just painted them on my nails instead. It's still "inspired" though right? Right.
Also ZOYA TRIXIE WHY YOU BUBBLE SO MUCH :( Probably my bad, I just piled on coats without letting each layer dry before the next.

31DC2012 Day 29: Inspired by the Supernatural

I really did not know what to do for this day. I'm not a big supernatural person at all. Werewolves are kind of cool though.

Two more prompts left, I'm hoping to finish them all tonight.

31DC2012 Day 26: Inspired by a Flag

Not much to say about these other than showing off my Maryland pride!!
(and the red and white designs should be flipped....whoops)

Three more "days" left...what?! I'm still going to attempt to finish tomorrow though, hopefully.

31DC2012 Day 25: Inspired by Artwork

So I honestly had no idea what to do for this challenge. I thought of a few artists (Luba Lukova, Milton Glaser) but I was feeling lazy and a little more abstract.

Which brings me to Chuck Close...

Chuck Clost originally did photo realistic portraits but later became a paraplegic and is no longer able to. He now creates large abstract portraits. I think they're amazing.

I tried to translate that look onto the nail and kind of failed. Oh well.

31DC2012 Day 25: Inspired by a Pattern

So I have this bag from Bath & Body Works, and every time I look at it, I think of how great it would look on my nails.

So glad I finally did it, I love it!

Five more "days" left. Finally.
