Swatchtober - Different Dimensions Silenced The Lambs Collection
Happy Wednesday all! I have some Halloween swatches for today :)
Before we get to the swatches, let me just mention that I'm currently working on a new halloween tutorial but have not had time to film since I've been completely swamped with work/school work.
The Silences The Lambs collection is based off on one of my favorite horror films – Silence of the Lambs.
Now onto the swatches!

Swatchtober - Pretty & Polished Halloween 2013 Collection
Happy Sunday! Along with tutorials (which I have another one coming up soon) I wanted to swatch some Halloween collections.
I'm calling it swatchtober (I'm so witty, right?) and I'm starting it off my swatching the Pretty & Polished Halloween 2013 collection. This collection consists of three polished, one of which glows in the dark and another which is color changing.
There are A LOT of photos for these, so I included the rest of the post after the jump!

Windestine Rainy Day Blues
Hi guys! I've been gone forever, I know. I went the the beach for two weeks and literally, it was the best two weeks I've had in a really long time.
Today I have a swatch of a polish called Rainy Day Blues by Windestine.
This polish has a turquoise jelly base with turquoise hex & bar glitter and microfine holo glitter. Teal is one of my favorite colors so it's clearly a winner in my book.
I used three coats for the photos above and RDB has a very smooth and easy application.
I know this is a rather short post for today, but I'm still unpacking from vacation and getting used to the fact I have to go back to work on Monday, sad face.
Windestine polishes can be purchased on etsy. Have a wonderful weekend :)

Femme Fatale Sweet Surprise
Happy Sunday everyone! Today I have a swatch of Femme Fatale's Sweet Surprise. This is actually my first FF polish and I definitely feel like I'm going to need to buy more someday.
Sweet Surprise is described as "a pale pink creme with blue undertones, and a scattering of various shapes/sizes in chartreuse, orange pink, white, garnet and purple."
I'm wearing three coats in the photos above and the glitter coverage is really good! No fishing for glitter here!

And here's a macroshot. So pretty O.o
Femme Fatale polishes can be purchased at Femme Fatale Cosmetics and at Llarowe.
I had wanted to do nail art today, but I painted my nails with Julep Madeline recently, a light pink polish with a textured finish, and I'm kind of loving it and it's holding up really well, so I'd hate to remove it before it chips. Hopefully there will be some nail art later in the week :)

Coco Allure Swatch Spam
Hello everyone! Recently Leah Ann from Llarowe had multiple random sales on her birthday and I could not resist. One of the sales was for the brand Coco Allure, which I had never heard of before but I'm always curious about trying new indie brands.
This post is actually quite photo heavy, so I've included everything after the jump!

HAREpolish
So with school, it looks like I don't have much time with nail art, but I have time to swatch polishes like a fiend, so here's some more polishes I've had forever, but I've never posted about before – HAREpolish.
Cosmo Blossoms
This just might be my favorite polish ever. It's a beautiful lavender base filled with bright green glitter. This lavender color is exactly the color I would love to dye my hair, which might be why I love it so much, but also I think it's a very unique combination of colors. Never would I ever think purple and green would look good together and not remind me of Barney. Honestly, I think if there was only one polish I could wear for the rest of my life, this would be it. I'm wearing three coats in the photo above, and application was very smooth.
Afterglow
This is a dark blue jelly with orange and purple hex glitter and tiny purple glitter. Another fun combination of colors, I think that's pretty common with HARE polishes and it's what makes them so unique. I had to use four coats for photos, but to the human eye it was opaque in three. This is a little bit thicker than Cosmo Blossoms, but the formula was still easy to work with.
Rad Cloud
I'm not even sure where to begin when describing this. It's a light pink base with purple, pink, green, and orange glitters of various sizes and shapes. My favorite part about this polish is the square glitters. I am a big sucker for any polish with a square glitter. This was a bit thick in consistency, still workable and I managed to not have any issues except with my pointer finger. I used four coats in the above photo for full opacity.
A purple base with blue, orange, pink, and purple glitters of various shapes and sized. This one also has square glitters but not as many as Rad Cloud. I really love this polish, almost as much as Cosmo Blossoms. I obviously have a thing for purple and I just love the way it looks with the bright orange! This one was thick like Rad Cloud. If I had polish thinner, those two polishes would be the ones I'd use it on, but they are definitely still workable without thinner, and these polishes are completely worth any slight struggle, in my opinion.
Why So Ingenious?
This one actually has a purple base; however, it was quite translucent and I didn't have a purple polish that matched it color wise, so I went with black. You can check out the listing on etsy for a photo without an undie. I really like this over black though, it really makes the purple glitter stand out.
Hope you all enjoy my swatches. I haven't been inspired much lately to do nail art, school is taking it's toll on my creativity. But I will say, I've enjoyed swatching, I've been wearing a lot of polishes that I've had for awhile but I've never worn before.
HAREpolish can be purchased on etsy or llarowe, and make sure to like them on facebook to get updates on shop restocks.

Daily Lacquer Swatches!
I not-so-recently received some polishes from Maggy from Daily Lacquer to review. Sorry Maggy! The semester started and I lost track of time but here is my review/swatches!
This is I'll Fly Away. This is part of the All You Need Is Love collection. This is described as "a light turquoise crelly polish filled matte pink hearts and blossoms." I see this as more of a sparkly baby blue base. Surprisingly, I ended up really liking this polish. At first I wasn't keen on the baby blue and baby pink combo, but on the nail I really like it. The only thing, which is expected, is it was a little difficult getting the larger glitters out of the bottle. Not a big deal though. I used four coats in the photo above.

This is The Green Fairy which is also from the All You Need Is Love collection. This is described as "a luscious gold/green creme polish filled with tiny specks of holographic gold glitter." This description is dead on. I love this polish, I think it would also look awesome on top of another polish. I used three coats in the above photo.
Daily Lacquer polishes can be purchased at Dailylacquer.com and Etsy. Visit her facebook for information and updates.

I Love Nail Polish Swatches!
Hello everyone! I have some very exciting swatches to show today from the brand I Love Nail Polish. I love these, even the packaging, which I will talk about at the very end.
Matthew Peri is made of periwinkle, gunmetal, navy blue, and prism glitters in various sizes and shapes. I love this, and I imagine over white, it would look very wintery. I watch Friends on the regular, so I love the name of this. The formula was great, not too thick, not too think. In this photo, I have one layer of Matthew Peri over Julep Meryl.
So Ghoul is a Halloween polish with silver, black, purple and even a few yellow glitters. I don't have many polishes with yellow glitter so it's very unique to my collection. The formula is nice, not too thin, not too thick. In this photo, I'm wearing So Ghoul over Orly You're Blushing.
Bad Mogwai is a Gremlin inspired polish and a combination of black and green glitters. There are hexes, bars, and even squares. This polish was also made for the Halloween collection, but as you can see, it doesn't have to be just for Halloween. In this photo, I've layered it over OPI La Paz-itively Hot. The formula for this was also great. Even if I didn't love this polish, which I do, I'd love it just for the name. My pugs name is Gizmo, after the mogwai in the Gremlins movie. When he was still a puppy, we would say that at certain times of the day, he would turn into a gremlin himself. Now he just sleeps all the time :)
Now onto the packaging!
Each polish comes in its own box, with a die cut heat, showing off the labels on the bottles. The designer in me just swooned when I saw this, seriously. So in love! The handles are nice too, they kind of have a rubber/grippy feel too them so it's easy to open the polishes.
And the bottom of every bottle has a color coordinated label with the name of the polish.
I Love Nail Polish can be purchased on etsy for $10.00 a bottle. The Winter Collection looks absolutely stunning.

Kelara Lacquer Swatches
Kelara Lacquer is a fairly new indie brand to the nail polish world. These polishes are hand mixed and created by future husband and wife duo, Kellen and Tara. Tara was very kind and sent me two polishes to try out, Seaside and Butterfly Kisses.
Seaside has a blue base with turquoise holographic glitter. It's a bit darker than what I could capture, but not by much. The sparkle is gorgeous and so is the formula! I used two coats for the photo above.
Butterfly Kisses features a soft purple base color with pretty pink holographic butterfly glitter and tiny purple and turquoise holographic hex glitter. I was very surprised by how much I like this polish. It's more girly than I normally like but the purple shimmer is beautiful. I used one coat of Butterfly Kisses over China Glaze Concrete Catwalk.
Kelara Lacquers can be purchases on etsy for $9.00 a bottle and make sure to like them on facebook!

Whimsical Ideas by Pam - Seuss
Today I have swatches from the indie brand Whimsical Ideas by Pam. I'm gonna go ahead and show you Seuss now, since these photos were taken pre nail breakage, and I'll post Georgia Peach Fuzz in a week or so.
Suess is a sky blue polished filled with various glitters. There are medium red hex glitters and both large and small silver hexes.
I really think Pam hits the nail on the head with this polish. I immediately think of Dr. Seuss when I see it. Seriously, all sorts of in love right here.
Formula on this was pretty good, I waited between coats to make sure I didn't brush the glitter off with each layer.
I do wish the smaller silver glitters were more noticeable. I've seen others swatches and there seem to be a lot more, but I still love this polish regardless. I used three coats for the photos above.
Any information on how to purchase Whimsical Ideas by Pam can be found on her facebook.

DIFFERENTdimension Halloween Trio
Today I have some swatches of differentDIMENSION's nail polish trio for Halloween. Each of these polishes are filled with various sizes of glitter, and the best part is... they glow in the dark! Awesome, right?!
First is Smashing Pumpkins. Smashing Pumpkins has a light gray base with small black glitter, medium sized orange hex glitter, and large black hex glitter. It also has medium sized square iridescent glitter, which you can kind of see in the photo on my pointer. The best part of this polish is it glows orange! The glow is not as intense as the other two polishes, but it's still awesome regardless. I held it under a light for probably two minutes to get it as bright as it is in this photo. For these photos, I used one coat of Smashing Pumpkins over OPI Skull & Glossbones.
When I bought this trio, I think this one was the one I was least excited for, but it ended up being my favorite! Ectoplasm is filled with black and green glitters of various sizes. This one glows green and the glow is very bright. In this photo I'm wearing one coat of Ectoplasm over OPI Stranger Tides.
Last one for the trio is Candied Corn. This polish has a very translucent yellow base with various sized white glitter, orange glitter, and iridescent glitter. This one was a little difficult to apply because it was so thin. I also had to do some digging for the large hex glitters but it was totally worth it because look at that glow! The description of this polish says the glow is yellow; however I definitely find it to be green, maybe a little less green than Ectoplasm, but still green. I'm not sure if that would be different had I layered it over something lighter. The glow on this is amazing, it barely needs any "charging" and it stays for a long time. I layered two very thin coats of Candied Corn over China Glaze Liquid Leather in the photos above.
DIFFERENTdimension polishes can be purchased on etsy for $10 each.

Windestine Swatch Spam!
Today I decided to show some swatches from the indie brand Windestine. This post is very picture heavy so let's get started!
First up is Spica *Swirl*. Windestine used to sell a polish just called Spica, which was very similar, but from the swatches I've seen, it looks more like a royal blue than a navy. Spica *Swirl* has a navy blue/turquoise base with various sized holographic silver and light gold glitters.
There are even little crescent moon shaped ones!
Each brushstroke is filled with all different types of glitter and I had no problems with glitter placement.
I used three coats for the above swatches. There was a teeny tiny bit of shrinkage that you can probably see in the photos but it wasn't as noticeable in person.
Next up is Bellatrix, which I would say is the sister polish to Spica *Swirl*. It has a dark maroon base with blue, pink, gold, and silver glitters. There are crescent moon glitters in this one as well.
This polish doesn't appear as glitter heavy on the nail as Spica *Swirl* is, but I'm not sure if that's because there aren't any larger glitters besides the moon.
I used three coats for the photos above and Bellatrix also had a little bit of shrinkage. The shrinkage could be caused by my topcoat; however, I've never had it shrink anything on me before.
Next is Asbestos, a polish with a clear base filled with tiny white square glitters.
I wore this recently in my ombré manicure. Love this polish.
I wore one coat of Asbestos over Zoya's Arizona (which appears to be a color my camera hates).
This last one is Carbon Copy. Carbon Copy is the brother... sister... (whatever you would like to call it) to Abestos. This polish is full of teeny tiny black glitters in a clear base.
There's also a slight shimmer to it, which isn't as present on the nail but can be seen in the bottle.
In the photos above, I used one coat of Carbon Copy over OPI's Stranger Tides.
Overall, the formula for all of these was thick, but I had no trouble with glitter placement for any of them. I was a little bummed about Bellatrix. When I saw swatches of it, I thought it was going to be my favorite; however, it just is kind of blah to me. Maybe it's just because it's still summer and the base color is so dark or it could be something as simple as I could have used another layer of top coat. Either way, I love all of the others.
Windestine polishes can be bought at either her Etsy or Big Cartel stores. Spica *Swirl* and Bellatrix are both $8 each for a full size a bottle, where Asbestos and Carbon Copy are $6 each.

Oh Baby!
As you can see, it gives off mostly a blue sparkle and fades into a purple.
But at certain angles, it looks magenta.
I used Oh Baby! over OPI's DS Mystery because I liked how the blue and purple sparkle looked with the gold glitter, but it gives the same duochrome effect over black.
Pure Ice is an inexpensive, drugstore polish that can be purchased at Walmart for just $1.99. A much cheaper alternative to Hits, though Oh Baby! is definitely not a dupe for any of the Hits polishes.
