31DC2014: Day 07 - Black & White

Happy Sunday! Last year for black & white, I did a gradient, the year before I did a dotticure. This year I wanted to try something a little more complicated.



Phases of the moon!
To create this, I started by painting all of my nails black. Then I painted full moons on all of my nails except my pinky. In order to do that, I started with a white circle, and painted random ares of grey varying in darkness.

To make the moon fade, I took some black polish and painted it in a crescent shape up until where I thought it should end and used acetone to fade the black into the moon.



The polishes I used are:
Pure Ice Black Out
Color Club Look, Don't Tusk
Dare to Wear On Cloud 9

I'm interested to see what I come up with for tomorrow since it seems like I always struggle with metallic day.
