31DC2014: Day 23 - Inspired by a Movie

Well my plan for doing three manicures yesterday definitely fell through, but I think if I had done these yesterday, they wouldn't have turned out so well!


The movie I chose is The Shining.

For the thumb, I wrote the room number, my pointer is the pattern on the carpet, my middle finger is "REDRUM" written on the door, my ring finger is the maze, and finally my pinky is some blood drips inspired by the elevator scene. I originally had attempted to paint an elevator with a sea of blood in front of it, but my pinky nail is so small, I went with some simple blood drips.

There is so much imagery from The Shining that it was difficult to pick just 5.



Here is where I normally list all the polishes I used, but this time around, there was so much mixing going on, I'm not sure it's worth listing everything.

I wish that my pointer nail had come out cleaner, but after painting that pattern for the fifth time, this was my best attempt by a landslide so I left it. I do really really really love how the maze turned out though!
